Our Therapeutic Yoga Sessions are individually tailored to be an adjunct to and compliment your mental health therapeutic process.

The difference between ‘therapeutic yoga’ and ‘a yoga class’ is embedded in approach and intention. Rather than focusing solely on yoga methods and practices, therapeutic yoga guides focus on their clients’ individual needs and develop associated goals. Time is spent developing an understanding of why their clients have come to see them and to determine what they can do to thoughtfully support them through the yogic process.

Therapeutic yoga is a term that implies your guide has additional certifications, training, and/or experience in yoga and complementary or alternative health modalities that can be used to deepen the yoga practice. Guides are not certified yoga therapists. Therefore, the process is not used to diagnose, treat, or prescribe. It is not meant to replace, but complement mental health or medical care.

These sessions are ideal for those who are engaging in mental health services and wish the explore the dynamic mind-body connection in conjunction. The process of therapeutic yoga engages wellness on a deeper level by enabling you to identify how stressors are resonating in the body while practicing techniques and poses to enhance connection with, integration of, and releasing of blocked energy and patterns that have manifested in your physical body.

With your consent, the yoga guide may collaborate with your mental health practitioner as deemed appropriate to ensure that emotional and spiritual goals are aligned with physical goals. An individually crafted yoga plan will be created to address physical disunion, bolster areas of strength, enhance connection with breath, build body awareness, and identify and attend to specific areas of growth.

Additional family members can be added to any session for an opportunity to cultivate, strengthen, and deepen connection and bonding.*
