An infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses light to create heat. A traditional sauna uses heat to warm the air, which in turn warms your body. An infrared sauna heats your body directly without warming the air around you. In an infrared sauna the temperature is not what is important, it is the exposure to the infrared.
Each infrared sauna session is booked for a 1 – hour time slot, this allows you time to get settled, heat up the sauna, and begin to relax. Be. requests that you wear a towel, bathing suit, or undergarments during your session.
Recommended Length and Frequency | To begin 20 – 30 minute sessions are recommended. On average, once established most individuals partake in 30-45 minute sessions, 3-4 times a week. There is no one answer for the ‘optimal’ amount of sessions per week; however, infrared saunas are considered safe to use every day. Frequency should be considered based on your goals, it is indicated that wellness improvements will be experienced sooner if you use the sauna daily.
