Therapeutic Yoga Guide

I offer therapeutic yoga to children, adults, and families who are seeking more dynamic balance and sustainable harmony in their lives. I create nurturing relationships based on understanding clients through their stories, interactions, motivations, and goals. Together we build a structure of ritual and process that gradually and gently integrates mind, body, and spirit. Through empathic attunement and compassionate observation in session, I offer tools and practices rooted in trauma-informed yogic perspective and nervous system regulation.

Somewhere between traveling the world and attempting to positively change it, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Geography, and took advanced studies in journalism, and healthcare science. Nature is my refuge, writing my outlet, and health my treasure. While studying health sciences, I worked as a critical care nursing assistant with people across the developmental and ability spectrum. Primarily, I was responsible for monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living tasks, and compassionately communicating with patients in what was often their most vulnerable time of life. This healthcare experience, knowledge of the building blocks of life and reverence for it, directly informs my therapeutic yoga approach.

I started practicing yoga with a few tips from a friend when I was 20 years old, and have been on this path ever since. I quickly realized that it was a way to get in touch with myself like I had never been shown before. In 2017, I graduated from Mark Stephen’s Yoga teacher school out of Santa Cruz, where I also connected to the Sri Yukteswar lineage and the Self Realization Fellowship. The marriage of yoga in naturescapes is one of my greatest joys and I love sharing this with other people. I have professionally guided yoga while leading backpacking trips on California’s coast, seasonally in Costa Rica’s most biodiverse rainforest, and while sailing across the Pacific. I continue to offer private nature immersion and yoga retreats through my small business, MarTerra & Sol.

In yoga philosophy and in my experience, at the core of reality and the essence of the self is sat chit ananda, or truth/ beingness, consciousness and bliss. Inclusive to religious or non-religious beliefs, the practice of yoga is a path of self-understanding that will help people explore their true self; in other words, their soul and spirit while grounded in the body. I’m passionate about empowering people to experience their pure and blissful soul consistently and reliably, and to seek union with the great vastness of spirit.

Live from the heart and Be. Courageous!
