Courtney Steuer

Licensed Clinical Social Worker | Clincal Substance Abuse Counselor | RYT-200

Balance Your Way means finding your own way, on your own time, and then grounding and rooting yourself in the confidence to identify your goals and values to help you achieve balance.

Coupled with traditional treatment approaches, Courtney utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities centered around developing insight into how our mind, body, and nervous system respond to life’s experiences and stressors, then developing effective ways to work through them from a balanced perspective.

Courtney graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a Master’s in Social Work degree, and she holds dual credentials in Mental Health (MH) and Substance Use Disorders (SUD) in addition to being a Registered Yoga Instructor-200 hours (RYT-200). She has experience with clinical case management on a mental health inpatient unit, mental health community case management, and as a member of community based residential facilities providing support to the youth and adult populations. She’s provided outpatient therapy, primarily with youth, young adults, and the older adult population, as well as provided trauma-informed yoga and/or clinical education groups and group facilitation in a variety of settings. She has a wide array of experience working within the dual diagnosis population (MH and SUD), those with unique cognitive and developmental needs, and acute psychiatric populations.

At Be., Courtney offers Yoga for Teens with Unique Needs & Special Abilities, yoga offerings for youth, and educational groups. She offers Private Individual Yoga Therapy and often incorporates body movement into sessions to help develop emotional awareness and brain and body connection.

Courtney provides unconditional positive regard, acceptance, and validation from a strengths based perspective to help normalize our experiences and recognize we are doing the best we can with the information and knowledge we have at any given time. As we learn to balance our way, she helps fill our tool box with effective strategies to move through uncomfortableness and stressful situations.

She feels that our past does not define us and believes that we can heal. Life is a journey – one of finding our purpose and truest potential – and she’d like to come alongside you on your way.

“Balance is the key to everything. What we do, think, say, eat, feel, they all require awareness, and through this awareness we can grow.”
